TESTING PROCEDURE FOR HYDRAULIC PUMP ASSEMBLY

Purpose:
To evaluate the performance of the hydraulics Gear type pump.
Conditions:
1. EP-80 Hydraulic Oil to be used for test at 50º-60ºC.
2. Suction Pressure: - 100 mm of Hg
3. System should be fitted with all accessories such as suction strainer, suction & delivery filter as per actual filtration on tractor.
4. Rated Pressure – 180 bar.
5. Pump should be mounted on tractor.
6. Oil should be free from contamination.
Procedure: -
1. Mount the pump on the tractor and check that all the screws should be properly tightened.
2. Fit the inline tester in the delivery line as shown in fig.

3. Check leakage from all the adopters and joints.
4. Run the tractor on idle engine rpm for some time unless temperature of transmission oil reaches to 45ºC.
5. Adjust rpm of engine up to 1500 rpm. Check flow of oil on inline tester at 0 bar pressure and 60ºC.
6. Now increase the pressure in step of 20 bar up to 200 bar with throttle valve after regular intervals of time of 2-3 minutes and note down the flow, temperature and pressure on inline tester.
7. After notified all the parameters release pressure from delivery line so that temperature will come down up to 60ºC.

Endurance test

1. Adjust engine RPM up to 1500, and pressure in delivery line up to 180 bar on inline tester and note down flow of oil at 65ºC.
2. At same pressure note down flow, of oil at time interval of every 5 min for half an hour.
3. Release pressures up to 0 bar in delivery line and keep tractor on idle engine RPM. So that temperature of transmission oil can come down.

SUCTION PRESSURE
NOTE:- Same procedure will be repeated for pump test at rated engine RPM.

Performance Requirement –
• Discharge of pump should be as per specification.
• Pump should withstand for 30 min endurance at rated pressure.
